Cow Tipping is the first Android app that I built. It was a major learning experience and ended up taking probably 80 hours. Learning how to place a button, make it do something, add a simple background, use data structures to track the number of clicks on a cow, animate a cow tip, add audio clips, create a high scores page, and so much more. The most rudimentary tasks that took hours for me figure out resulted in this simple, 20 second game.
Much to my surprise, Cow Tipping has seen a lot of activity. The game consists of a 20 second level where you… you guessed it… tip cows. It’s rather simple, but it’s massed over 16,000 total downloads in the Android Market/Google Play Store. Updated in October 2012, Cow Tipping now features “Frenzy Mode,” where cows tip over with a single shove. It’s pretty cool.
